Accuracy, limits, and good practice
- 72 points is one inch and about 28 points is one centimetre — the usual starting point for trimming a generous document margin.
- The same crop applies to every page, so a document mixing portrait and landscape pages will not crop evenly.
- Cropping changes the visible page box rather than deleting content, so check that nothing important sits just inside the trimmed edge.

Is the cropped content deleted?
Cropping adjusts the page box. Treat the removed area as hidden rather than securely erased — for that, use permanent redaction.
How do I know how much to crop?
Measure against a known reference: A4 is 595 by 842 points, so a 50-point trim removes a little under two centimetres.
Can I crop just one page?
The crop applies uniformly. Split the page out first, crop it, then merge it back if only one page needs treatment.
