Accuracy, limits, and good practice
- Formulas referencing sheets you left out will break in the extract; convert to values first if tabs are interdependent.
- Hidden sheets still exist inside a shared file and can be unhidden by anyone; extraction is the way to share safely.
- Sheet names and order carry into the new workbook, so tidy them beforehand with the renamer and reorder tools.
- Extract from a saved copy rather than a file open in Excel; a workbook with unsaved changes gives you the version on disk, not the one on screen.

Are cross-sheet formulas preserved?
Between extracted sheets, yes. References to sheets that were not extracted have nothing to point at and will error.
Does the original file change?
No. The source is read-only here; a new workbook is generated for download.
Can I extract one sheet into its own file repeatedly?
Yes, run once per sheet — or use the split workbook tool, which exports every sheet as a separate file in one pass.
Do charts on an extracted sheet survive?
Chart objects may not transfer cleanly. Verify any sheet carrying charts or pivot tables before sending the extract on.
