Accuracy, limits, and good practice
- Opacity around 0.3 to 0.5 stays legible without ruining the picture; fully opaque text looks harsh and is easier to crop out cleanly.
- Font size is in pixels, so one setting looks very different on a 600-pixel thumbnail and a 4000-pixel original. Test on your smallest file.
- A corner watermark is easy to crop away. Centre placement is far harder to remove, at the cost of covering the subject.
Frequently asked questions
Can I use an image or logo instead of text?
Not in this tool — it applies text only. For a logo overlay across pages of a document, the PDF image stamp tool does the same job for PDFs.
Does the watermark protect my copyright?
It deters casual reuse and keeps attribution attached, but it is not legal protection and determined editors can remove it.
Will every image get the same watermark?
Yes — one text, one position and one style for the whole batch. Run the tool again with different settings for a different group.
